About This Tour
Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is Nepal's premier wetland birding destination and a Ramsar-listed site. Situated on the floodplains of the Koshi River in eastern Nepal, it hosts over 500 bird species including rare migratory waterfowl, shorebirds, and some of Asia's most threatened species. A paradise for waterbird enthusiasts.

Note: Prices are based on a minimum of two participants and may vary depending on group size.
Fly to Biratnagar, then transfer by jeep to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Afternoon check-in at the lodge, briefing session, and short evening walk along the embankment to spot first birds.
Pre-dawn walk to the riverbank and wetland areas. Prime time for migratory ducks, geese, storks, and waders. Boat ride on the Koshi River to observe waterbirds from the water. Afternoon grassland birding for Bengal Florican and Swamp Francolin.
Full day birding across riverine forest patches and open floodplains. Search for rare species like the Indian Skimmer and Black-bellied Tern. Afternoon jeep excursion into the reserve interior.
Dedicated session tracking migratory raptors, warblers, and waders. We will drive to the lake and stay there whole day. Evening return to hotel.
Last early morning birdwatching session. Breakfast and departure transfer to Biratnagar for onward journey to Kathmandu.
