About This Tour

Venture into the pristine forests of Langtang National Park on this unique 5-day Red Panda Wildlife Tour, designed for wildlife enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and nature photographers. Trek through beautiful oak, rhododendron, and bamboo forests in search of the elusive Red Panda, one of the Himalayas' most charismatic mammals. Along the way, enjoy excellent opportunities to observe Himalayan wildlife, including musk deer and a variety of rare bird species, while experiencing the tranquility of Nepal's mid-hill forests.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, relax or explore the nearby area. In the evening, attend a tour briefing covering the Red Panda expedition, wildlife tracking techniques, and trekking program. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

After an early breakfast, drive from Kathmandu to Kutumsang (approximately 75 km | 4–5 hrs). From Kutumsang, begin a gradual trek through beautiful oak and rhododendron forests to Magingoth, one of the best locations for Red Panda habitat. Along the trail, there is a chance to encounter Himalayan Musk Deer, Wild Boar, Kalij Pheasant, and Darjeeling Woodpecker. Overnight at a local lodge.

pend the day exploring the dense bamboo forests surrounding Magingoth in search of the elusive Red Panda. Guided by experienced local trackers, quietly follow forest trails while learning about the species' ecology and habitat. The moss-covered oak forests are also home to several Himalayan bird specialties. Possible sightings include Fire-tailed Myzornis, Himalayan Shortwing, and the beautiful Himalayan Cutia, often seen feeding among lichen-covered branches. Overnight at Magingoth.

After an early breakfast, hike towards Thadepati, another prime Red Panda habitat, continuing your search through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests. This high-elevation trail also offers opportunities to observe Himalayan Monal, Blood Pheasant, Eurasian Woodcock, and other Himalayan bird species. Return to Kutumsang for an overnight stay at a local lodge.

After breakfast returning hike to Kutumsang, drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.

After breakfast, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. Depart Nepal with unforgettable memories of tracking the elusive Red Panda and exploring the beautiful Himalayan forests.
